Treats high blood pressure and heart failure. Also given to reduce the risk of death after a heart attack. This medicine is an ACE inhibitor. Lisinopril is used alone or together with other medicines to treat high blood pressure hypertension.
High blood pressure adds to the workload of the heart and arteries. If it continues for a long time, the heart and arteries may not function properly. This can damage the blood vessels of the brainheart, and kidneys resulting in a strokeheart failureor kidney failure. Lowering blood pressure can reduce the risk of strokes and heart attacks. Lisinopril works by blocking a substance in the body that causes the blood vessels to tighten.
As a result, lisinopril relaxes the blood vessels. This lowers blood pressure and increases the supply of blood and oxygen to the heart. Lisinopril is also used to help treat heart failure. It is also used in some patients after a heart attack. After a heart attack, some of the heart muscle is damaged and weakened. The heart muscle may continue to weaken as time goes by.

Measure the oral liquid medicine with a marked measuring spoon, oral syringe, or medicine cup. Take a dose as soon as you remember. Store the medicine in a closed container at room temperature, away from heat, moisture, and direct light. Ask your doctor before you use any medicine, lisinopril and mouth pain, or salt substitute that contains potassium. This medicine is lisinopril and mouth pain right for everyone. Do not use it if you had an allergic reaction to lisinopril or another ACE inhibitoror if you are pregnant. It is not safe to take this medicine during pregnancy. It could harm an unborn baby.
Tell your doctor right away if you become pregnant. Tell your doctor if you are breastfeeding, or if you have lithium contraindications and precautions diseaseliver disease, diabeteslisinopril and mouth pain, or heart or blood vessel disease.

Do not stop using this medicine without asking your doctor, even if you feel well.
This medicine will not cure your high blood pressurebut it will help keep it in a normal range. You may have to take blood pressure medicine for the rest of your life.
